Chives

Chives are very easy to grow, have a mild onion flavor and produce a beautiful globe-like flower.  Chives also grow well indoors in the winter for a fresh supply all year long.
Plant in an average to rich soil in full sun to partial shade.  Chives grow well from seed or take a clump off another plant.

You can use chives fresh, dried or frozen.  I like to cut a few stems in the summer and cut them in small pieces and add them to cottage cheese.  If you want to add some chives to cooked meat or fish, wait until the last few minutes of cooking and then add the chives.

The beautiful flowers look very pretty and add flavor to home made vinegars.  They also dry very well to use in dried flower arrangements.
