Large, bright green leaves have
many perky,
little yellow, daisylike flowers
peering forth
all summer long. It is
a member of the
daisy family.
Melampodium needs full sun.
An average to
rich, well-drained soil.
Plant the plants outside
as soon as all danger of frost
is passed and the
ground is warm. Plant
ten inches apart. The
plants get about ten to fifteen
inches tall.
You can start the seeds in peat
pots in the house
and then plant them pot and
all outside.
It can be used as a sunny ground
cover or grown
in window boxes, or patio or
deck planters, and
also looks great in hanging
baskets. Last summer
I planted mine alternating with
Lacey Dusty Miller,
and they looked very pretty
together.
